Cette petite toile à pour sujet les boîtes des bouquinistes qui longent les quais de Seine à Paris. A l'arrière plan, la Tour de l'Horloge à la Conciergerie. Lumière d'été légèrement traitée en grisaille./ The subject for this little painting is the " boxes" of the secondhand booksellers we find along the quays of La Seine. In the backgroung, La Tour de l'Horloge in La Conciergerie. The light of the summer lightly painted in " grisaille".

Petite toile ayant pour sujet la Seine et les tours de Notre Dame dans une lumière de fin d'après-midi. Le premier plan est occupé par la masse des branches d'un saule pleureur qu'illumine les rayons couchant du soleil. A l'arrière plan se profile L'Ile Saint Louis et Notre Dame. / Small painting having for subject the Seine and the towers of Notre Dame in a light of end of the afternoon. Pour cette peinture, j'ai choisi la vue d'un quai, baigné dans une douce lumière de fin d'après-midi. A l'arrière plan on aperçoit la tour de la Conciergerie./ For this painting i choose a sight of a quay in a soft light of end of an afternoon. With the background one sees the tower of La Conciergerie.

Du côté de l'Ile Saint Louis/On the side of Ile Saint Louis

Le Pont Sully enjambe la Seine du côté de l' Ile Saint Louis. J'ai été intéressé par l'aspect brillant du ciel et des nuages, les ombres claires des bâtiments ainsi que par les ombres portées des lampadaires sur le sol. / Le pont Sully spans the Seine on the side of the Island Saint Louis. I was interested by the brilliant aspect of the sky and the clouds, the clear shades of the buildings like by the shadows of the standard lamps on the ground.
